Vibrant colours, colourful music & a great atmosphere – that’s what you got at this year’s ‘Africa on the Square’ – an event put on by the Mayor of London’s office at Trafalgar Square. The crowd, of about 30 000 people were serenaded with eclectic sounds from Ethiopia, West Africa, Southern Africa to name a few.
Africa fashion was front and centre at the event – from the striking, bold statements in the crowd to the African showcase featuring some of the designers who’d featured at Africa Fashion Week. We were especially excited to see the designs from Le Ekhaya.
Le Ekhaya is the fashion house of award winning designer, Unique Sibanda. Le Ekhaya designs are the fusion that embodies the fierceness of the vintage woman, the fragility of the modern woman and the vision of the future women. We caught some footage from the Le Ekhaya showcase below:
